Stangate House Garden

Stangate House Garden

Stangate House is a National Trust property in the Adelaide Hills, nestled in the village of Aldgate.

The house was built in 1940 by an Adelaide clergyman, the Reverend Raymond Cornish who named his home after Stangate in London where he lived with his wife Gwenyth for some years whilst he was chaplain at St Thomas’ Hospital. The 1.6 hectare property features enticing and romantic gardens which literally takes your breath away.

The fairytale giant English oak tree, planted in 1838, is one of many enchanting settings for that unforgettable occasion.

Aldgate Creek winds through the property.

A Bridal Walk connects the house with the garden.

You have the unique opportunity to have exclusive use of the entire garden.
