Welcome to “White Hill” Chaff Shed Celebrations
This unique venue will appeal to those with a sense of individuality and creativity in the planning of their special day.

We are proud to claim “White Hill” as part of McLaren Vale and South Australian pioneering history, having been farmed by the Oliver family since 1841.

Over the years it has been the venue for many and varied celebrations, indeed the first recorded wedding was held here on the 19th day of September 1877, between James Little and Ann Cameron- Oliver.

The rustic 1850’s Chaff Shed atmosphere combines well with all styles of cuisines, which can be personalized to meet your particular taste, budget and style of function.

The 150 year old Chaff Shed is rustic and intimate. Licensed for up to 60 guests, this can be extended up to 100 guests with outdoor settings and umbrellas if a cocktail style reception is preferred. In fine weather this can be extended to include the surrounding lawns and gardens with outdoor settings and market umbrellas.

Red Poles

Set in an ambience of vines and natural bushland, Red Poles is the perfect setting for a wedding or a private function. Red Poles has a fully licensed restaurant, art gallery and B&B rooms set in a vineyard with green lawns flowing into natural bushland. Set back from the road one remains unaware of the suburbia beyond its boundaries. There are many picturesque spots to hold your wedding.

Rain hail or shine Red Poles can accommodate your function. Shady umbrellas on the lawns and wide verandas are perfect on a sunny day whilst blinds, outdoor heaters and a cozy fire prevent any inclement weather becoming a problem. No marquee is ever required as the service can be held in the art gallery space. We cater from 25-120 people, with a variety of menu options. Table settings include linen table clothes, pillar candles whether cocktail or seated function.

The gallery space can also provide a more intimate function space for seating up to 65 people. You would have sole use of Red Poles premises.

Our heritage listed venue dates back to 1850. It is the oldest winery site in the McLaren Vale region, with Rosemount Estate becoming the proud caretakers of this outstanding facility in 2001.

The front lawns present a great location for ceremonies and gatherings and with the surrounding vineyards; the area is an attractive and interesting site for photographs.

The interior makes a perfect venue for reception or ceremony with its special character, historic charm, and an atmosphere set to create that special occasion.

With unforgettable and unique surroundings it is the perfect place to hold your special event. You can rest assured that you and your guests will be treated to fine food, wonderful wine and service of the highest standard.

The Collett family’s firm belief in the natural partnership of fine wines and great food led to building Woodstock Coterie in 1988. Our fare, contemporary Australian cuisine showcasing the best seasonal produce the region has to offer.

The name “Coterie” was specifically chosen for its meaning; “a circle of people gathered to share a common interest”, reflecting the main purpose of the building – to cater for private functions, wedding receptions, parties and seminars.

Subject to a minimum number of guests, booking Woodstock Coterie ensures use of both the downstairs and mezzanine areas, the paved courtyard, verandahs and extensive lawns and native gardens which can be decked out exclusively for your wedding ceremony.
